HKY4Vets 2020 Strategies

HKY4VETS VISION

To be a well-known and preferred conduit between transitioning veterans, their families, and the Catawba County business community, and a transition assistance/employer resource organization of choice, with presence across major military installations in the Carolinas.

HKY4VETS MISSION

To partner with Catawba County businesses to meet their talent requirements by leveraging the veteran community, and to provide opportunities for these veterans, their families and military transition organizations that are aligned to the Catawba County community.

2020 STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

After undertaking an aggressive and expansionary work plan in 2019, HKY4Vets is seeking greater strategic simplicity in 2020, pursuing 3 main objectives in support of our mission and long-term vision (discussed in more detail via this February 2020 blog post):

  • Establish the HKY4Vets Industry Fellows Program, initially partnering with the US Chamber of Commerce’s Corporate Fellowship Program.
  • Establish a regional veteran network that can benefit the professional aspirations and social channels of the region’s existing veterans
  • Pursue financial and “personnel balancing” steps to ensure the sustainability of the program beyond 2020

We will routinely provide updates on each of these efforts as 2020 progresses via this page, our blog as well as our social media outlets.

UPDATE (6.3.2020) - Like much of the country, our initial plans for 2020 have been greatly delayed.  Momentum was well underway in all areas, but the Covid-19 pandemic effectively halted that momentum, with the exception of the third objective continuing its progress.

As the country and our community begin to "reopen" we will continue to pursue moving these other objectives forward as well or the means to accomplish them "virtually".

HKY4VETS MISSION

To partner with Catawba County businesses to meet their talent requirements by leveraging the veteran community, and to provide opportunities for these veterans, their families and military transition organizations that are aligned to the Catawba County community.
